Sony Xperia Z1 Compact gets Root Toolkit and CWM Recovery before Launch

Sony Xperia Z1 Compact is not yet official launched and we see that a root tool kit and CyanogenMod based recovery is now available. So it’s great news for those who are planning to buy Sony Xperia Z1 Compact.

Sony Xperia Z1 Compact Root Access

Thanks to the XDA forum member DoomLORD for creatively working with Koush and Free Xperia team in order to gain root accress for the Sony Xperia Z1 Compact. The owners of the Smartphone should first have to unlock the boot loader of Xperia Z1 Compact and then following the root procedure and installation of the CyanogenMod based custom recovery built from ClockworkMod 6.0.4.6 sources.

With this the device will be running with stock ROM Android 4.3 Jelly Bean with firmware version 14.2.A.1.114 or any ROM based on the said firmware for the root access to work perfectly. With this root access the Sony Xperia Z1 Compact will not lose its camera functionality.

Custom Recovery Features:

1. Standard ClockworkMod recovery 6.0.4.6 with Touch Controls

2. Kernel is insecure

3. ADB debugging is enabled by default in OS

But one thing should be kept in mind that unlocking the boot loader without TA backup will lead to irreversible loss of DRM keys on the Smartphone.
