Huawei has officially launched Huawei GX8 Android smartphone for the US at the ongoing CES 2016. The device is the similar variant of the G8 which was announced at the IFA last year. The Huawei GX8 sports a 5.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) display with curved 2.5D glass and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection.
It has all-metal body and features a fingerprint sensor 2.0 on the back. Under the hood, it has octa-core Snapdragon 616 SoC clocking at the rate of 1.5GHz and runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box with Huawei Emotion UI 3.1 on top.
On the cameras front, it has 13-megapixels shooter on the back with dual-tone LED flash and is accompanied with 5-megapixels front camera. The various connectivity options are 4G LTE /3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, and GPS.
The Huawei GX8 has 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage which can be extendable up to 128GB with microSD card. It is powered with 3000mAh battery on the back.
Price and Availability:
The Huawei GX8 comes in gold, gray and silver colors and carries a price tag of $349.99 ($23,285 approx.). The device will be available to purchase from Bestbuy.com, select Best Buy stores, GetHuawei.com and Amazon.com sometime in Q1 2016.
Also , Huawei launched Mate 8, its 6-inch Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS for the international market at the same CES 2016 event. The phablet includes 6-inch FHD display, 3GB/4GB RAM, 32GB/64GB storage, 16MP rear camera, 8MP front camera and 4000mAh battery.
