HTC Desire Eye, Desire 816 gets Android Lollipop Update

HTC started rolling out Android 5.0 Lollipop firmware update to HTC Desire Eye and HTC Desire 816. The update news was made official through HTC UK’s Twitter stating “We are proud to announce that we are rolling out #Lollipop for Desire Eye and 816 smartphones from today. Enjoy!”. So, if you have any of the above device, then be ready to experience the latest Lollipop firmware.

The Android 5.0 Lollipop brings better material design and also boost in battery performance, better security and introduction of ART (Android Run Time) and more. With the Lollipop update we can also see improvement in the opening of various apps in the app drawer. No other changelog for Desire Eye and Desire 816 is provided by HTC.

HTC Mobiles didn’t mentioned the size of the update. But thanks to LlabTooFer, a tipster which stated that the size is about 1008.9MB and carries the Android version 5.0.2 Lollipop. He also included that certain models of HTC will not get the Sense 7.0 UI in the Android 5.0.2 Lollipop update, but it’s expected to include in the next update i.e, Android 5.1 Lollipop. The devices which will get the Sense 7.0 UI are HTC Desire Eye, One (M8), One (M8s) and Butterfly 2.

According to recent reports, it is unveiled that HTC One (E8) and HTC Butterfly 2 were also getting the Android Lollipop update along with HTC Desire Eye. But there no official announcement made by HTC regarding the Lollipop update.
