Google Nexus 4, Nexus 7 Android 5.1 Lollipop OTA update rolls out in India

Google has started rolling out Android 5.1 Lollipop update for Google Nexus 4 and Nexus 7 users in India. The update is via OTA (over-the-air) and weighs 174.5MB and 101.6MB for Nexus 4 and Nexus 7 respectively. There is no official changelog list from Google, but includes update notes which states “improves performance and stability and fixes bugs”.

Android 5.1 Lollipop update for Google Nexus 4 and Nexus 7 gets Quick Settings options in the notifications panel and more. The update also adds improved stability and an enhanced ART (Android Run Time) which helps in opening the apps faster.

Earlier this month, Google rolled Android 5.1 Lollipop update for Nexus 6 users in India via OTA. The Android 5.1 factory images for Nexus 5, Nexus 10 and Nexus 7 also listed by Google on its official developer page.

The Google Nexus 4 and Nexus 7 2012 users gets notification regarding the Android 5.1 update. Device users can also check the update manually by going to Settings > About Phone > System Updates.
