Android M: HTC One M9, One M9+ are the first HTC devices to get update

List Of HTC Smartphones getting Android M Update

Google, developer of most popular mobile operating system announced its latest version ‘Android M’at Google I/O 2015 conference. The developer preview of Android M is already available to download for Nexus 5, Nexus 6 and Nexus 9. In addition, Google also released the Android M wallpapers and apps which also available for download.

The HTC M9 and HTC One M9+ are the first HTC smartphones to get the latest Android M update. The company is in development to provide the update to both this high-end devices and other models too.

This news has been confirmed by HTC’s Senior Online Communication Manager Jeff Gordon in its latest tweet “Good news! The HTC One M9 and M9+ will be updated to Android M, with more devices to be announced soon” on May 28, 2015.

The above tweet states that the HTC One M9 and One M9+ are the first HTC Flagship phones to receive Android M update. Moreover, the Jeff Gorden added that the same update will be rolling to older HTC flagship devices.

Android M brings key features like Android Pay, native fingerprint sensor support, simplified app permissions, efficient power management and a lot more. We can also see much more improvements and bug fixes when compared to its predecessor Android Lollipop.

HTC One M9 and One M9+ launched earlier this year with Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box with HTC Sense 7.0 UI on top. The One M9 features a 5-inch Full HD display while One M9+ sports a 5.2-inch 2K Super LCD 3 display.
